The Ram girls golf team shot the lowest 18-hole team score in Greene County school history Friday at River Bend Golf Course in Story City. Rachael Danielson was medalist with an 89 on the par 74 course. Coach Heath Telleen noted it was very windy, “but no snow, so we will take it.”
Ellie Madson and Mariah Block both shot 104, Kaitlyn McColley shot 107, and Serenity Blair shot 109.
The Rams placed second. Team scores were Roland-Story 381, Greene County 404, Bondurant-Farrar 439, and North Polk 445.
The team shot its second lowest 9-hole round of the season Thursday at the Carroll municipal golf course against the Carroll Tigers.The host Tigers shot a team total of 187, with the Rams at 209. Danielson didn’t golf, but rested for the 18-hole meet Friday in Story City.
Madson shot a 48 for the Rams’ low score. “Ellie Madson really played tonight and continues to improve,” coach Telleen said.
Other Ram scores were Kaitlyn McColley 52, Blair 54, Block 55, and Emma McColley 90. On the JV side, Autumn Villebro shot 76 and Josie Weaver shot 86.
Medalist was Carroll’s Sommer Sinnard with a 43.
